About Us

Unique Poker Items is a family owned business in Encino, California. It is operated by my wife and myself. I had been in the advertising business since 1963 and Joan ran her own commercial real estate firm for more than 22 years. After the Los Angeles earthquake of 1994, with our businesses disrupted, we opened a new direct mail company and have operated it successfully since that time.

In November of 2006 I became very ill. After many difficult medical situations, culminating in a bone marrow transplant in October of 2007, I am now recovered and back to work. My wife and I have been longtime supporters and fundraisers for the City of Hope Medical Center in Duarte, CA, and that is where my transplant took place.

Joan and I both love to play Texas Hold’em Poker and do so as often as our schedule allows. It was natural that we would want to work in a field that we have an affinity for. We opened this site to enable the two of us to work together without having to travel for much of the day. We are both committed to bringing you the best poker products available at the most reasonable prices we can offer. Service to the consumer is the prime motivator for our business. We know that if you are happy with the products and service you receive, you will become a loyal customer and recommend us to your friends. The best businesses are built on good products, good service, customer satisfaction and word of mouth. This is Unique Poker Items’ primary goal.
